Our Stories, Our Stength - 25 Years On
This powerful new report, Research into the Lived Experiences of Australian South Sea Islander People, captures the voices and stories of our communities across Queensland — from elders to younger generations. It celebrates who we are, our resilience, and our shared journey since official recognition 25 years ago.
Through the stories of identity, opportunity, education, health, and everyday experiences of racism, this research shines a light on both our strengths and the challenges that remain. It reminds us that while recognition was a milestone, true equality and self-determination come through continued visibility, understanding, and action.
